imdeadgirl Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2, 2026 · Version 1.2
Summary:
- We collect what we need to run imdeadgirl: your account details, your plan, your letters and photos, and your people's contact details.
- We never sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
- Letters are encrypted. We don't collect photo IDs, selfies or biometric information.
- After your information is released, it is kept for 1 year and then deleted.
- You can download or delete your information at any time.
This Privacy Policy explains how 3BSI LLC, a Michigan limited liability company ("imdeadgirl," "we," "us"), collects, uses and shares personal information when you use imdeadgirl.com, our emails and text messages (the "Service"). It covers members and also people who are not members: people a member adds to their list, letter recipients, and people who report a death.
1. Information we collect
From members
- Account: name, preferred name, pronouns, email, US mobile number (if you give one), date of birth, time zone, and sign-in identifiers from Google, Apple or Facebook if you use them. We receive your name, email and profile identifier from those providers, not your password.
- Account verification: when you link a Google, Apple or Facebook account, we receive your name, email address and an account identifier from it. Your name from that account becomes your verified name on imdeadgirl. We don't collect photo IDs, selfies or any biometric information.
- Your Content: funeral and party plans, obituary, letters (encrypted), photos (we remove location and camera metadata), and the names and contact details of the people you add.
- Check-ins: when we sent check-ins and how you responded.
- Payments: plan, billing status and the last four digits/brand of your card. Stripe processes your full payment details.
- Consents: which terms and consents you accepted, when, and from which browser. We store a keyed one-way hash of your IP address, not the address itself.
- Device and usage: IP address, browser type, pages visited and actions taken, collected by our servers and, unless you opt out, by Google Analytics.
About people who aren't members
- People on a member's list and letter recipients: name, email, optional US mobile number, relationship, and what the member allowed them to see. After a release, we record when they confirmed a death or accessed information.
- People who join our waitlist: their email address, when they joined, and a keyed one-way hash of their IP address (for preventing abuse). We use the email only to tell them when imdeadgirl opens.
- People who report a death: their name, email, relationship, the note they write, and the name and email they entered for the member. We also log IP information for abuse prevention.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service: check-ins, the death-confirmation and release process, delivery of plans and letters, exports and the funeral program.
- To verify accounts and prevent fraud, impersonation and abuse (including false death reports).
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To send service messages by email and text (see SMS Terms).
- To understand and improve the Service with aggregate analytics.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use Your Content to train artificial-intelligence models.
3. How we share information
- With the people you choose: after a release, with the people on your list (the sections you allowed) and letter recipients (their letters).
- On your public wishes page (only if you turn it on): anyone with the link can see the plan sections (and, if you choose, the obituary) you pick, under the name you choose. Letters, your people and your photo gallery are never public. The page is kept out of search engines, and you can turn it off at any time.
- Service providers (processors) who handle data only on our instructions:
- Amazon Web Services: hosting, storage, databases, email, text messages and encryption keys.
- Stripe: payments and tax.
- Google Analytics: site usage analytics, with advertising features turned off. We never send names, emails, phone numbers or Your Content to Google Analytics, and we never load it on letter, confirmation, check-in, report or post-release pages.
- Google, Apple and Facebook: only if you choose to sign in with or link them.
- Cloudflare: Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is filling out our waitlist form. It receives your IP address and information about your browser.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of users, the public or us.
- Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
4. Your privacy choices and US state rights
Depending on your state (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon and others), you may have the right to:
- know or access the personal information we hold about you, and get a portable copy;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising (we don't sell, and we treat analytics as opt-out-able);
- limit the use of sensitive personal information (we use it only to provide the Service);
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
How to exercise them:
- Members can download everything from Settings → Download my stuff and delete their account from Settings.
- Anyone, including non-members, can email support@imdeadgirl.com.
We will verify your request (for example, by email code), and respond within the time the law requires. You may use an authorized agent where your state allows. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.
Do Not Sell or Share / Global Privacy Control. Use the "Your Privacy Choices" link in our footer to turn off analytics. We automatically honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser.
Sensitive information. We don't collect biometric information or government ID data.

| After you delete your account | Deleted within 30 days |

6. Information about deceased members
After a member's death is confirmed through our process, we share their information only as the member instructed. A personal representative of a deceased member's estate may email support@imdeadgirl.com, with proof of their authority (such as letters testamentary or letters of administration) and a death certificate, to request deletion of the member's information. We do not give anyone access to a member's information beyond what the member chose, except where the law requires it.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, application-level encryption for letters, least-privilege access, and logging and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure. Please protect the email and social accounts you sign in with, using strong, unique passwords and multi-factor authentication.
8. Children
The Service is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or under 18 as members). If you believe a child has given us information, contact support@imdeadgirl.com and we will delete it.
9. United States only
The Service is for US residents, and data is stored and processed in the United States.
10. Changes
We will post changes here and update the effective date. For material changes, we will notify members by email or in the Service before they take effect.
